How to find fake stores

How to find fake stores using your brand name

You do not find clone shops by Googling your brand and hoping. Attackers use buy[brand].shop, official[brand].store, and ad accounts you do not own. Generate the neighborhood, then check which hosts have a cart.

Search the hostname, not just Google

Customers type your brand. Attackers register a near-miss TLD. A site: search for your official domain will not list those hosts. You need lookalike generation: extra words, missing letters, .shop / .store / country TLDs.

Then open only the ones that resolve. A registered name with no site is a later problem. A live checkout is this week.

What a live fake store looks like

Shopify or Woo theme, your product names, undercut prices, and a checkout. Title may be a short brand stem (“Equip”) even when your domain is longer.

Parked pages say for sale. Clone shops do not. If you only grep WHOIS, you will mark the shop as noise.

Do this in one pass

Enter the official domain at obscuryn.com/free-scan. The free lookalike / fake storefront check generates the common hosts and keeps live carts. Leave a work email if you want the reviewed list.

If a shop is live, capture the URL and screenshot the same day. Then file with the registrar and the host before the kit rotates.
